DISCOVER: This is the “hook” for learners. Children engage in an experiential activity — a discovery process — where they have an “aha” moment.
EXAMINE: Learners dive deeply into their topic by learning about the causes and implications of the challenge. They engage in a continuous cycle of asking questions and seeking answers to increase their understanding.
ENGINEER: Learners generate potential solutions. They select the solution that will best address the challenge and they can find the resources to build.
DO: Learners implement their solution. Yes, for real — they implement it in the real world with real people who need it.
RevX is a learning model that schools and out of school programs can learn from to enable children to claim their power and transform the world.
In the RevX model all learning is centered around a relevant cause children care deeply about.
We have one cohesive experience we call DEEDS (Discover, Examine, Engineer, Do, and Share) that gives children a predictable structure for their learning experience.

Our framework is anchored in project-based learning (PBL), which has proven benefits for both engagement and learning on standardized tests (in the short term) and deep alignment with the needs of tomorrow’s workforce (in the long term). To bolster the great work of PBL, we also draw upon the best of the science of learning and identity development.
Through the experience, we integrate four components to ensure young people are developing the skills, mindsets, and standards required.

Standards-aligned explicit instruction, self-directed learning, full group and/or small group instruction to understand the knowledge and skills required to pursue a solution to the challenge.
Exposure to specific industries (e.g. psychology), technical skills (e.g. artificial intelligence) and transferable skills (e.g. problem solving) in order to address the challenge.
Self-reflection on academic progress and personal experiences and explicit practice or discussions on how to evolve one’s sense of self.
Assessment and tracking of learners’ growth on RevX outcomes, their opportunities to tackle social challenges, and how the learning environment has evolved.
