Learning is the name of the game – even for us! We are dedicated to continuous reflection and refinement of our approach to better serve children.

We Are Seeking to Learn About:

LEARNER OUTCOMES

We ask ourselves…

  • What progress are learners making on RevX outcomes:RevX OutcomesThe high level knowledge, skills, habits, and mindsets needed to be a Change Maker. They include state standards but are primarily focused on the ability to apply and integrate knowledge and skills to make an impact in the world. Intellectual Prowess (includes academic standardsAcademic StandardsThe state-aligned academic standards developed and assessed in a given module. Standards are tagged to each phase of DEEDS and assessed weekly through our Standards-Based Formative Assessment Packet.), Strong Sense of Self, and Creating Impact?

We collect data from…

  • An ongoing Formative Assessment PacketFormative Assessment PacketThe open ended and/or multiple choice questions used weekly to assess children’s progress on state standards on academic standards
  • Students final presentation assessed with an End of Module Competency RubricEnd of Module Competency Rubric – The rubric learners and adults use to determine the extent to which they met or did not meet the RevX outcomes for the specific modules.
FACILITATOR AND LEARNER INTERACTIONS

We ask ourselves…

  • Which facilitator strategiesFacilitator Strategies – Actions (e.g. types of questions they may ask or tasks they can give) that facilitators take to ensure children are learning. are being used with learners most often? Least often?
  • Which learner behaviors are being demonstrated most often? Least often?

We draw conclusions from…

  • A periodic Fidelity ChecklistFidelity ChecklistThe list of actions that make facilitators effective. The checklist is used if facilitators are observed in order to determine if they are implementing with fidelity and provide them with actionable feedback.
  • A Weekly JournalWeekly JournalA set of reflection questions (written or audio) and student work completed by learners at the end of each week to summarize their learning. These entries are assessed with the RevX Look Fors associated with that phase. that demonstrates progress on RevX Outcomes using a Look Fors ChecklistRevX Look Fors ChecklistEach RevX Outcome is broken down into a set of 4-5 Look Fors (knowledge and skills children are working on). Each phase of DEEDS is tagged with these Look Fors and are assessed through observation and journal entries of student work..
LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

We ask ourselves…

  • How are adult behaviors and the broader environment influencing children’s thoughts, feelings and the stories they tell themselves?

We draw conclusions from…

  • Daily Learner Experience SurveysLearner Experience SurveysA rotating 4-item daily survey that asks children to rate the extent to which the adults created a learning environment that supported their cognition, honored their identity and individual differences, and where they felt motivation to engage..
